Welcome to Svea’s in Stenslanda, a traditional Swedish cheesecake café. Homemade cheesecake from Småland is served in a newly renovated 18th-century home.

We would like to thank all the guests who visited us in the summer of 2025.

The 2026 season will open Sveas in Stenslanda on the weekend of June 13-14 and will then be open Saturday and Sunday every weekend throughout the summer between 1-6pm, the last weekend being September 12-13.

Menu

Our menu is simple: We serve classic Swedish cheesecake in the traditional way, with jam and cream. The coffee is brewed at your table in a percolator, just like in the old days. We also offer other cakes, cookies, and homemade juice.

How it all started

Svea grew up on this farm, Stenslanda Östregård, during the 1930s. After her school years in Tävelsås, Svea spread her wings at Swedish Folkhögskola education, trained as a home economics teacher, and rode a motorcycle.

It was widely known that when there was a party at Stenslanda Östregård, you could be sure of one thing: Svea’s cheesecake would be on the table.

Many years later, Svea’s birthplace (and the secret cheesecake recipe) was passed down to her eldest daughter, Anna-Lena. The house had been uninhabited, but Anna-Lena had long harbored a dream: to restore Östregård to its former glory. Windows and doors have been carefully renovated, layers upon layers of wallpaper have been examined, and memories have been aired. Since 2023, Östregård is ready to welcome guests again. Much has changed since Svea lived here, but Svea’s classic cheesecake is always the same.

Svea’s in Stenslanda is located in a genuine Småland countryside setting, surrounded by fields and meadows. The café served its first cheesecakes on Midsummer’s Day, June 24th, 2023.

Follow the country road 3 km from Tävelsås, follow the sign to Stenslanda, and at the first crossroads, turn left.
